Michael Jackson’s Posthumous Xscape

It’s no secret – the music industry is suffering. The music industry is suffering so much that Timbaland, one of the greatest producers of my generation, is producing a dead man’s album. Michael Jackson is dead and has a new album coming out. Yep. Go ahead a take a moment to decide if you want to release the awkward laughter. What the? Are there no good alive artists to produce anymore?

The album – titled Xscape – is scheduled to release May 13, 2014, and I am not here for it. Michael Jackson would not have approved of this boring album cover, that awful costume or the bad wig. I haven’t even listened to the song yet, but I already don’t like it. LA Reid, Epic Records CEO, released this statement to justify his and his camp’s greed and lack of morals:

“Modern music and artistry would look and sound completely different if not for the groundbreaking contributions Michael Jackson gifted to the world. Michael left behind some musical performances that we take great pride in presenting through the vision of music producers that he either worked directly with or expressed strong desire to work with. We are extremely proud and honored to present this music to the world.”

blank stare

Ummm, ok. If Michael Jackson expressed strong desire to work with someone, he would have worked with them…he was Michael Jackson – cut the crap. You are using recorded material that he never released because he didn’t want to release it and trying to make money off of his name. We are not stupid and we are not buying it. Nice try though.

To the loyal fans of my music: please do not let anyone produce my album if I’m dead. Hahaha. Thanks.
